Job Summary
Provide emergency occupational therapy coverage at a skilled nursing facility in Atlantic, IA for a minimum six-week period while a licensed COTA is out. Assist patients in regaining skills for everyday life under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, focusing on ADL retraining and durable medical equipment assessments. Maintain an 85% Patient Care Task level and ensure active Iowa COTA licensure is held prior to assignment start. A recruiter will contact applicants with specific assignment details and next steps.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college
- Active Iowa COTA license
Desired Qualifications
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a COTA in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting
- Demonstrated experience with ADL retraining and durable medical equipment (DME) assessment
- Ability to provide coverage on short notice for emergency staffing needs for a minimum six-week period
- Patient care task (PCT) requirement: able to perform duties at the 85% PCT level as defined by the client
