Costing Engineer - Intimates

Job Summary
Track global commodity and labor cost fluctuations monthly, partnering with sourcing leadership to summarize trends and identify manufacturing innovations for savings. Support production with early costing for new styles, run detailed GSD sequences to establish cost baselines, and optimize marker consumption through factory collaboration. Review seasonal cost breakdowns to identify reduction opportunities, present findings to directors, and negotiate factory terms on sewing minutes, efficiency, and material costs. Compare multiple factory quotes to drive competitive pricing while maintaining design aesthetics. Travel to factories as needed to validate requests and monitor cost effectiveness season-over-season.
Required Qualifications
- 8 -10 years' experience in apparel product costing
- 5 years of experience with Intimates product
- Bachelor's Degree
- GSD certified
- Expert level computer skills (advanced Excel)
- Pattern Making knowledge and experience preferred
- Very strong knowledge of product construction, including material costs and consumption, garment manufacturing, country specific labor costs, capabilities and efficiency levels
- Specific to Intimates and Lounge categories, both seamless and cut & sew product
- Superior organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Highly detail oriented and meticulous
- Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising/design
- Travel to factories, where appropriate
