Job Summary
Costing Analyst (M/W) in Milan, Italy, focused on accurate cost management across categories, vendor negotiations, and reliable costing data. Collaborates with Product Development to assess cost implications of design and materials changes, builds understanding of raw materials and garment construction, maintains supplier data and onboarding, tracks and evaluates vendor performance, conducts cost benchmarking to drive margin optimization, and identifies cost savings without sacrificing quality or design intent. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 1–2 years in purchasing/sourcing/product development, Excel proficiency, and strong English (Italian a plus). The role offers up to two days of remote work per week within a flexible organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Fashion Business, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or product development
- Internship experience in apparel, sportswear, or sporting goods is a plus
- Exposure to technical apparel and/or accessories, particularly working with European and Asian suppliers, is considered an advantage
- Ability to read, interpret, and work with technical specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting, and tracking)
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Italian proficiency will be a plus
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams (design, development, sourcing)
- Curious and proactive, with a genuine passion for product and continuous learning
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
