Job Summary

Cost Principles (2 CFR Part 200) Accountant responsible for highly responsible accounts payable and grant accounting across 18+ concurrent grants, ensuring proper coding, authorization, and documentation of vendor payments, reimbursements, and cost allocations. Responsibilities include processing invoices and payments, matching POs and contracts to grant terms, applying established cost allocation plans and indirect cost rates, preparing month-end accruals and reclassifications, maintaining audit trails, ensuring compliance with 2 CFR 200 Subpart E and funder terms, and collaborating with Program, Finance, and Operations teams to resolve coding or funding issues. Requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of Uniform Guidance, GAAP, and procurement standards, and proficiency with ERP and Excel tools. The role can be fully remote, with potential in-office requirement if converted to FTE in Washington, DC.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable and grants accounting; experience managing multi-grant portfolios
  • Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), GAAP, and federal procurement standards
  • Experience with complex cost allocation plans and indirect cost applications
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or Sage Intacct)
