Job Summary
Oversee financial aspects of construction projects by collaborating with disciplines to establish and monitor budgets throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor actual quantities and costs against forecasts, identify variances, and implement Earned Value Management systems to measure performance and provide accurate project health assessments. Process change orders to capture cost impacts and adjust budgets, while preparing regular cost forecasts and detailed financial reports including cash flow projections for senior management. Identify cost-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure budgets are adhered to in a high-volume, priority-changing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in cost control on large (£100m+) construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management, risk management and cost control and its application in construction
- Familiar with cost control and project management software (e.g. Primavera, SAP)
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong knowledge of integrated project reporting
- Comfortable with presenting in high pressure situations
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform in a high volume, priority changing environment
- Ability to use own initiative
