Cost Operations Lead

Job Summary
Own a single, prioritized source of truth for all cost initiatives and drive them to measurable efficiency and margin gains. Pressure-test savings claims to verify realized versus projected results and prevent silent cost regressions. Build cost-attribution discipline through per-service, per-team, per-customer, and per-feature tagging. Oversee LLM spend across providers, including procurement and commitment sizing, while governing internal AI tooling with per-user visibility and quotas. Treat cost like production telemetry by implementing real-time attribution, anomaly detection, alerting, and automated triage. Automate toil via cost-triage agents and self-serve attribution to scale the program. Drive the operating cadence, unblock owners, and ensure savings land across engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in infrastructure, SRE, developer productivity, or platform engineering
- 3+ years leading cross-team programs or teams
- Deep, hands-on understanding of cloud infrastructure and AI/LLM economics
- Proficient in driving efficiency, capacity, or FinOps-adjacent programs
- Eng operations instincts: you think in SLOs, error budgets, telemetry, and postmortems, and you apply that discipline to spend
- Strong SQL and data skills
- Ability to query BigQuery
- Ability to build a Sigma workbook
- Ability to model a scenario
- Hybrid work arrangement (3 days a week in Bangalore office)
