Job Summary
Advise clients on cost strategies, manage vendor prequalification, and chair bid interviews to finalize recommendations. Develop full project estimates, validate junior team work, and present value engineering and risk assessments. Establish reporting schedules, review budget forecasts, and maintain commercial risk registers while hosting periodic project meetings. Manage cost control by assessing payment applications, recommending contractor entitlements, and resolving change orders and disputes. Monitor invoicing processes, conduct post-contract audits, and lead final accounting and close-outs. Perform post-contract reviews to create lesson learned documents and training manuals. Develop procedures governing project handover using bid analysis sheets and cost estimating software. SOX control responsibilities apply where applicable. Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field required with 3-5 years of cost management experience. RICS accreditation is valuable. Base salary $115K-$135K.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry
- Experience supporting cost management on medium or large sized construction projects
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
- Strong communication skills
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable
- Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred
