Job Summary
Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor for a large-scale, multi-phase campus development in the St. Louis, MO area. Responsibilities include advising on procurement strategies, managing bid processes and vendor prequalification, developing and reviewing construction cost estimates, supporting value engineering and risk assessments, establishing cost reporting and forecasts, leading cost control activities including payment applications and change orders, supporting dispute avoidance, overseeing invoicing and project closeout, and ensuring SOX control responsibilities where applicable. Requires on-site presence 3x per week in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3–5 years of cost management experience in construction; RICS accreditation preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a cost management role within the construction industry
- Experience supporting medium to large-scale construction projects, including site development and large building programs
- On-site presence 3x per week in the St. Louis, MO area
- Knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering principles
- Experience supporting pre-contract estimating and post-contract cost control activities
- Familiarity with cost reporting, budgeting, and change management processes on active construction projects
- Strong organizational skills and stakeholder engagement abilities
- RICS accreditation is preferred
