Job Summary
Experienced Cost Estimator/Cost Controller needed to prepare construction cost estimates at all design stages for education, healthcare, residential, corporate occupier and commercial projects. Responsibilities include managing estimating and cost planning, presenting final cost plans, applying Value Management, post-contract cost management (change orders, monthly cost reporting, payment certification), ensuring cost analysis and valuation accuracy, participating in value engineering and Life Cycle costing, and leading a cost management team. Requires liaison with clients and consultants, knowledge of CostX, and a hybrid work arrangement based in Calgary, AB. Qualifications include a university degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, professional memberships (CIQS/RICS/AACE), and Canadian government reliability clearance as an asset.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- 5 years’ experience delivering pre-construction and post contract construction cost services
- 2-7 years experience in cost control/estimation role
- Membership of CIQS, RICS, and/or AACE
Desired Qualifications
- University degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Membership in CIQS, RICS, and/or AACE
- Reliability clearance with the Government of Canada is an asset
- CostX knowledge is an asset
