Job Summary
Lead overall bid development by reviewing tender documents, creating basis of estimates with risk mitigations, and presenting recommendations for management decisions. Coordinate team resources to optimize execution efficiency while soliciting and analyzing subcontractor quotations. Maintain oversight of project performance during execution to inform future pursuits and assist with change order pricing. Develop effective mitigation strategies for project risk profiles and maintain the estimating database including productivity rates and internal cost libraries. Promote continuous improvement through analysis of bid versus actual cost data and establish professional relationships across diverse industries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or technology diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in civil or heavy industrial construction
- Proficient with estimating software
- Experience with WBS/CBS and project cost controls
- Advanced knowledge of contract/commercial management
- Experience with risk management
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
- Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team, with the ability to effectively delegate work, manage priorities and support development of junior staff is considered an asset
