Job Summary
Experienced Cost Estimator for energy and industrial projects, delivering Class 1–5 cost estimates per AACE standards across upstream, midstream, and downstream assets (oil/gas, refining, drilling). Leads scope analysis (FEED), performs quantitative risk analyses (Monte Carlo), coordinates with engineering/procurement/construction teams, prepares bid packages and reports for leadership, and mentors junior estimators. Proficient with ACCE/@Risk and Excel/Power BI for cost modeling and dashboards; stays current on industry trends, digital estimating tools, and evolving regulatory requirements. Remote role with travel up to ~15%; requires a Bachelor's in Engineering/Construction Management and 10+ years in estimation in the oil and gas sector; strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills for cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in estimation within oil and gas
- Experience with Class 1–5 cost estimates per AACE International standards
- Strong knowledge of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor cost budgeting for oil and gas projects
- Experience with FEED analysis, high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) conditions, and hazardous area classifications
- Proficiency in risk analysis tools and methods (Monte Carlo simulations)
- Experience with procurement processes and evaluating vendor proposals
- Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and cost modeling software (ACCE, @Risk or equivalent)
- Ability to mentor junior estimators and communicate with leadership
- Willingness to travel up to ~15% for client meetings and site visits
- Remote work capability with ability to collaborate with dispersed teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- Awareness of sustainability goals, regulatory requirements, and digital engineering initiatives
