Job Summary
Cost Engineer responsible for preparing spreadsheets and conducting cost analysis, cash flow, and other cost-related evaluations. The role involves coordinating cost-related issues with project managers, construction managers, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and contractors; maintaining cost control procedures; preparing project cost, commitment and cash flow reports; analyzing and participating in the negotiation of change orders and invoices; collaborating with Accounting to develop and maintain project accounting, cost management, procurement, and expediting systems; managing project cost and change-management progress reporting; supporting documentation flows for bulletins, change orders, and RFIs, and preparing internal monthly financial reports (CR-1s) for management review. Requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or construction management discipline (preferred) with 3–5 years of experience, strong communication skills, and advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Project, Access, Prolog, and JD Edwards (or similar cost-management software). The position is based in Pocola, OK; Tulsa, OK; and Dallas, TX with in-person requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or construction management discipline preferred
- Three to five years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Working knowledge of project’s scope of work for the project
- Proficiency in budget preparation, cash flow analysis, and other financial reporting
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Access
- Advanced knowledge of Prolog, and JD Edwards (or similar cost management software)
