Job Summary
Cost Engineer to support SharkNinja's new product lines by developing accurate should-be cost models throughout the product development process. Responsibilities include coordinating product details to generate ballpark costs during the AD phase, updating should-be costs as prototypes evolve, reviewing CBOMs, delivering reports and slides to teams (including the China cost team), ensuring cost accuracy, generating a critical components list for quotes with suppliers, suggesting design-for-cost opportunities, tearing down competitive products to understand materials and assembly methods, and preparing weekly project updates plus participating in product reviews and hacks. Must have experience in consumer products or similar high-volume production, strong analytical and detailing skills, proficiency in MS Excel, knowledge of plastics/tooling/electronics/assembly methods/packaging, familiarity with injection molding, and a BS in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering; SolidWorks or CREO skills and solid presentation ability are required.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering
- Experience in consumer products or similar high-volume production situations
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Knowledge in plastics, tooling, electronics, assembly methods, decoration processes, packaging
- Intermediate skills in Solidworks or CREO
- Presentation skills, delivering clear summaries, takeaways and opportunities
