Cost Engineer/Senior Project Controls

Job Summary
Lead the setup, monitoring, and forecasting of project cost and progress metrics while managing all cost control elements, including budget development, scope change tracking, and expenditure reporting. Maintain accurate data in cost control systems and tools, analyze revenue and cost performance to recommend corrective actions, and review contractor pay applications for contractual compliance. Track construction physical progress using Earned Value Management (EVM) and coordinate with contractors to upload weekly progress data into project systems. Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, minimum 15 years in project controls, and proficiency in tools like Oracle or Primavera P6. Based in Baton Rouge or Corpus Christi with potential U.S. travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in project controls, with a strong focus on cost management and field operations
- Familiarity with construction contracts and pay application processes
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with project controls teams, construction teams, and vendors
- Willingness and ability to travel for on-site assignments
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in project controls and scheduling software, including Oracle, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, EcoSys, Unifier, or Synchro
- Industry-recognized certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Risk Management Professional (RMP)
