Cost Engineer - Nuclear

Job Summary
Maintain and update project budgets, forecasts, and commitments while tracking and validating actual costs, accruals, and variances. Support change control processes, prepare monthly cost reports and dashboards, and collaborate with Work Package Managers to compile Monthly Project Reviews. Provide analysis for KPIs and performance monitoring, contribute to cost system enhancements, and engage stakeholders to ensure data integrity and schedule alignment. This role requires 4–10 years of experience in cost engineering or project controls, proficiency in Excel and Power Query, and familiarity with ERP tools like SAP or Primavera. Located in Bridgewater (Somerset) with 3–4 days on-site, the position supports complex nuclear and energy projects within ALTEN's global consultancy.
Required Qualifications
- 4–10 years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or a related discipline
- Proven knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and change management
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and data analysis tools
- Experience in large, complex projects ideally within infrastructure, energy, or nuclear sectors
- Familiarity with ERP/project controls software (e.g., SAP, EcoSys, Primavera)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Project Management, or equivalent military experience
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
