Cost Engineer

Job Summary
Develop and maintain product cost estimates from concept through production while identifying category and platform cost trends. Prepare cost analyses to support design decisions, supplier negotiations, and cost reduction initiatives. Evaluate product, tooling, packaging, and manufacturing costs to identify optimization opportunities and partner with Product Development and Design teams to balance cost, quality, and performance objectives. Participate in Value Analysis/Value Engineering activities to achieve target costs and support the standardization of cost engineering methodologies. Collaborate with suppliers to understand cost drivers and assist in developing scalable cost estimation tools that improve decision-making. Work closely with Sourcing, Finance, and Product Development teams to support business decisions and product profitability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in cost engineering, product development, manufacturing, sourcing, or a related function
- Strong analytical skills with experience in product costing, BOM analysis, and manufacturing processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of plastics, injection molding, tooling, and consumer product manufacturing
