Cost Engineer

Job Summary

Develop accurate forecasts, monitor project costs, and support financial reporting activities for complex capital projects within a highly regulated environment. Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Planners to ensure ongoing project affordability while communicating cost and performance information clearly to project teams and stakeholders. Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to align cost forecasts with programme delivery, leveraging experience in cost engineering, cost control, and cost analysis principles. This role supports a major infrastructure programme within a Project Controls team, requiring SC Clearance and a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the Glasgow City Centre.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate cost and performance information clearly to project teams, managers, and stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of cost engineering, cost control, and cost analysis principles
  • Experience working within a Project Controls environment
  • Understanding the importance of aligning cost forecasts with programme delivery
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good reporting and presentation skills
  • 3 days per week in the office in Glasgow City Centre
  • SC Clearance
  • UK residency and nationality

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with CEMAR
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts
