Cost Engineer (Electrical)

Job Summary
Negotiate commercial terms on construction and services agreements while substantiating and negotiating change orders with sub-contractors. Prepare and review detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, including MV/LV distribution, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm. Analyze drawings, specifications, and technical documents to support accurate cost forecasting, then monitor actual costs against estimated budgets to perform variance analysis and update forecasts. Manage and process change orders related to electrical scope, including pricing and cost justification, while collaborating with Project Engineers, Field Supervisors, and Schedulers to maintain cost control. Generate periodic cost performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all processes adhere to corporate standards and client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost engineering, estimating, or quantity surveying for electrical systems in construction projects
- Solid understanding of electrical construction methods, equipment, and installation standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management tools
- Experience with construction contract types such as Lump Sum, GMP, Cost-plus, and their cost tracking implications
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications accurately
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience on semiconductor facilities, or industrial MEP projects
- Bilingual (English, Korean)
