Job Summary
Coordinate monthly cost reviews, forecasting, and project cost reporting to support accurate commercial decision-making. Manage revenue and cost reporting for labour, plant, equipment, suppliers, and materials while tracking accruals, spent hours, and earned value across the project lifecycle. Collate and review progress claims from head contracts, subcontractors, and suppliers; support the Commercial Manager with contractual correspondence, claims responses, and commercial risk management. Maintain accurate financial data, procurement registers, and contract records while reviewing subcontractor terms and pricing. Liaise with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure effective cost communication and identify cost risks and process improvements. This FIFO role involves a 14 days on/7 days off roster in Cooma, New South Wales.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Business, Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum five years' project financial or cost control experience
- Experience working in a project delivery environment
- FIFO experience
- Strong cost control, financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow, change management and commercial administration capability
- Highly numerate, analytical and detail focused
- Ability to identify trends, errors, risks and opportunities quickly
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Good understanding of project scheduling and the relationship between schedule, cost, productivity and commercial outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong negotiation, influencing, problem-solving, planning and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, resilient and collaborative approach
- Strong focus on safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement
- Currently live within Australia
- Currently approved visa working rights (permanent, temporary, student, spousal, etc) to Australia
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally across at least two previous project environments
- Exposure to Sage X3 ERP or similar systems
