Job Summary
Monitor, analyze, and control costs across all departments, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance, to ensure budget adherence. Assist in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts, then monitor actual performance against targets to identify variances. Prepare detailed cost reports, including profit and loss statements and variance analysis, for senior management. Oversee inventory control through regular physical counts and establish standard costs for materials, supplies, and services. Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and provide training to department managers on cost control procedures. Ensure compliance with financial policies, ISO standards, and food safety regulations while driving sustainable practices and waste reduction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost control, accounting, or finance, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP), hotel management systems (such as Opera or Micros), and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ability to interpret financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cost issues and provide solutions that enhance profitability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and management
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work under pressure
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial data and sensitive operational information
