Cost Control Lead

Job Summary
Cost Lead focused on cost management and cost control within large capital programs in the energy/natural resources sector. Responsibilities include developing and implementing cost governance frameworks, tracking baselines/actuals/forecasts, establishing CBS aligned to WBS, leading monthly cost control activities (validation, ETC/EAC forecast, variance analysis, management commentary), developing dashboards, applying Earned Value Management where applicable, managing contingency drawdown and cost risks, supporting change control, validating contractor/subcontractor cost submissions, and providing cost input to procurement and contract administration. The role also involves serving as the primary cost management point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, presenting cost performance and risk to senior leadership, and leading/mentoring junior cost control staff. Hybrid work arrangement in Edmonton, Canada, with a strong emphasis on leadership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across engagements. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in cost management/cost control on capital projects
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
- Experience implementing and managing cost control processes on major capital programs in energy or natural resources
- Strong understanding of cost control interfaces with scheduling, risk, change management, and project reporting
- Proficiency in cost management tools (EcoSys, Procore, or equivalent) and advanced MS Excel; data visualization (Power BI) is an asset
