Job Summary
Provide estimate and cost planning for commercial, institutional, and residential projects throughout Canada, preparing Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design. Manage estimating activities, including final cost plan presentation, cost analysis, checking, and valuation. Lead value engineering, LEED analysis, and life cycle costing while negotiating and approving final accounts. Maintain liaison with clients and consultants across project stages and prepare mechanical and electrical cost estimates for all asset classes. Identify new business opportunities with existing clients and report findings to the line manager.
Required Qualifications

- relevant experience
- Knowledge of Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering and design
- Support or lead the delivery of cost management services
- Provide estimate and cost planning
- Producing and presenting the final cost plan
- Preparing Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design
- Managing estimating and cost planning activities
- Taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan
- Ensuring that cost analysis, cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively
- Participating in Value engineering, LEED analysis and Life Cycle costing
- Provide input into value engineering
- Negotiate and approve final accounts
- Maintain liaison with client and other consultants at all projects stages
- Preparing Mechanical/Electrical cost estimates for all asset classes
- Experience preparing mechanical and electrical cost estimates for complex construction projects
- Good understanding of construction procurement methodologies
- Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life‐cycle costing
- Strong presentation, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities

- experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, or related software
- Membership in a relevant professional organizations (i.e. RICS, CIQS, AACEI)
- Certification or designation from a professional organization (i.e. MRICS, PQS, CCP)
- Exposure to or involvement in business development activities
- Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems
