Cost Analyst

Job Summary
Develop and evaluate program baselines; develop innovative development, production, operating and support cost estimating techniques for a broad range of cost elements; develop independent or program life cycle cost estimates with accompanying risk, uncertainty and sensitivity analyses; conduct economic analyses including business case analyses, cost/benefit analyses, and analysis-of-alternatives; assess credibility of government/industry cost estimates and proposals; evaluate cost/schedule performance and conduct variance root-cause analysis; document and present/defend analytical results; develop and train less experienced cost analysts; apply effective customer service to foster collaboration across IPTs and present analytical results to senior managers and clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, or business)
- Minimum of 2 years’ defense, intelligence and/or civil agency program cost and economic analysis experience
- College-level coursework in mathematics through Calculus II
- Ability to think analytically, creatively and critically
- Ability to operate in evolving requirements, incomplete data, shifting priorities
- Ability to communicate complex analytical results verbally and in writing
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and data handling
