Cost Accounting Manager

Job Summary
Establish and lead a centralized Cost Accounting department supporting 13 manufacturing locations, developing fully loaded standard costs and managing material, labor, and overhead allocations. Own the standard costing methodology, analyze manufacturing variances for actionable insights, and drive continuous improvement in costing processes and ERP utilization. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes including inventory accounting, reserve analysis, and journal entries while maintaining internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Coordinate annual physical inventory observations and cycle count programs across facilities, serving as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors. Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A teams to improve inventory accuracy and BOM integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant emphasis on manufacturing cost accounting
- 5 years of Supervisory cost experience
- Experience developing and maintaining standard costing systems within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience supporting annual physical inventories across multiple manufacturing facilities
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, cost accounting methodologies, and manufacturing operations
- Experience supporting external audits, internal control frameworks, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end financial close processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and business partnering skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with finance, operations, supply chain, and executive leadership teams
- Highly proficient in Excel and other reporting tools
