Cost Accounting Manager

Job Summary
Own and maintain standard cost methodologies for materials, labor, and overhead while leading inventory accounting system design, including BOM definitions, routings, and item master governance. Establish cost accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, conduct routine variance analysis to identify root causes, and support month-end close through inventory and production account reconciliation. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain to resolve discrepancies, manage inventory valuation and reserves, and account for deployed battery systems, installations, and returns. Serve as an educator on key accounting rules and practices while maintaining a "no job too small" mentality to perform procedures within the general scope. Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data capture throughout the production ramp-up.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of manufacturing and cost accounting experience
- experience owning and scaling a standard costing function
- managing people and processes
- Expert knowledge of standard costing
- Expert knowledge of BOM's
- Expert knowledge of routings
- Expert knowledge of inventory accounting
- Advanced ERP experience
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong variance and root cause analysis experience
- Clear communication skills, demonstrating the ability to partner across functional groups (supply chain, engineering, operations, finance)
- Exposure to energy hardware or other complex assemblies
- Experience or desire to operate in a high-growth environment
Desired Qualifications
- CMA or CPA, preferred
