Cost Accounting Manager

Job Summary
Review, analyze, and create all accounting related to Inventory Assets including WIP and Paper. Examine and authorize payment of production invoices while preparing month-end reports and analyses. Manage a team of three staff accountants and assist with quarterly audits and special projects. Collaborate with IT to enhance current systems and drive process improvements. This role is based in New York or Boston, MA, with a hybrid schedule of three on-site days per week. Compensation ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 depending on location. Candidates must possess an accounting background, ERP implementation experience, and proficiency in Oracle Cloud and Excel.
Required Qualifications
- BA in Accounting with 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience in Cost accounting specifically
- Experience in Oracle Cloud Application
- Experience with ERP implementation
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through close attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
- Ability to gather and analyze complex or diverse information in a timely and organized manner
- Understand business implications of decisions and have ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment
- Skilled in researching and collecting data, monitoring progress and preparing reports for special projects
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality
- Proficiency in Excel is required
- Results must be driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
- Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work and demonstrate good follow through
- Proven ability to build supportive and constructive relationships within and outside of the organization; takes the lead in inspiring others to work together for mutual benefit
- This role is based in our New York office or Boston, MA office
- Employees are expected to work on-site three days per week in accordance with our hybrid work model
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the office
Desired Qualifications
- Ideal candite will have IT/system knowledge and or ERP implementation along with an accounting background
- Curious mindset to fully understand the inner workings of the Department
