Job Summary
Manage and monitor product costing by calculating and updating standard costs while supporting budgeting activities. Lead month-end close operations including journal entries and reconciliations, and analyze inventory, COGS, and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy. Prepare variance analysis for material, labor, and overhead, then present findings to leadership. Assist with inventory controls and cycle counts, close work orders for accurate cost allocation, and support fixed asset accounting. Collaborate with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to improve processes and data quality. This role is based in Utica, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting or cost accounting experience with month-end and year-end close processes
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory processes, and financial controls
- Expected Travel 0-20%
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Access, Word, PowerPoint a plus)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., MANMAN or Oracle)
- Familiarity with SQL and/or Power BI
- Experience in manufacturing or lean environments
