Cost Accountant - Custom Trailer Manufacturer

Job Summary
Apply fundamental accounting theories to support cost accounting functions and ensure accuracy in manufacturing cost and inventory values. Perform margin analysis by customer/part/job, monitor gross profit variances during fabrication, and reconcile general ledger inventory account changes. Assist in month-end closing activities, year-end inventory counts, and the annual audit while contributing to timely management reporting and budgeting processes. Analyze product design and manufacturing method changes to determine cost effects and develop KPIs to track plant performance. Act as a subject matter expert for reporting in Global Shop and BI to foster continuous improvement and drive AOP targets.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent
- Minimum five (5) years relevant costing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to anticipate problems along with excellent problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Proficient Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) – Advance Excel
- Excellent planning, organizing, multitasking and time management skills
- Exceptional written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Regular hours are 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday
Desired Qualifications
- Experience/exposure in continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma, or project management
