Cost Accountant

Job Summary
Cost Accountant responsible for cost accounting and analysis in a manufacturing environment. Develop and maintain standard costs, perform variance analysis, ensure accurate inventory valuation and COGS reporting, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close with cost-related entries. Assist with budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs, analyze cost trends and KPIs to identify cost-reduction opportunities, and provide data to support strategic initiatives and capital investment decisions. Ensure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and support internal/external audits. Collaborate on ERP enhancements and drive process improvements to streamline cost accounting workflows and data accuracy, in alignment with Crane’s controls and continuous improvement culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Master’s degree is a plus
