Job Summary
Track labor, materials, and subcontractor costs with precision to ensure project profitability and transparency. Collaborate with Project Managers during monthly reviews to verify financial accuracy, while assisting with monthly job accruals, Work in Progress reviews, and the annual plant budgeting process. Generate insightful cost reports for leadership and support month-end and year-end closing cycles to maintain financial integrity. This detail-oriented role reports to the Senior Cost Accountant in the Greater Springfield, MA area, requiring 10-15% travel to project sites. Candidates should bring 1-5 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Vista (Viewpoint) if available.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (or higher) in Accounting, or equivalent professional experience
- 1–5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in Payroll, AP, or AR
- Solid grasp of cost accounting principles
- Experience in the construction or industrial sector
- Excel power user
- Self-motivated
- Naturally curious
- Able to communicate complex financial data to non-finance team members
- Based in the Greater Springfield, MA area
- Approximately 10-15% travel to visit project sites or regional facilities
