Job Summary
Cost Accountant at Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting production and operational costs. Maintain and analyze standard costs, complete daily settlement of production orders and inventory adjustments, prepare cost accounting reports and analyses, monitor inventory transactions, and conduct cost variance analyses. Collaborate with operations, procurement, production, and finance to improve cost efficiency; support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning; review BOMs and routings; assist in month-end/year-end closes; ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls; develop cost accounting procedures and documentation; generate management reports on cost trends and performance metrics. Requires manufacturing experience, strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and use of ERP systems and BI tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of accounting or cost accounting experience
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools
- Knowledge of standard costing, activity-based costing (ABC), and variance analysis
