Job Summary
Cost Accountant in Spartanburg, SC for a generator enclosure manufacturer and service company. Responsibilities include full scope cost management (job costing, inventory valuation, standard costing for raw materials, WIP, finished goods), production oversight, variance analysis of costs, inventory control and reconciliation, detailed job cost and profitability reporting, budgeting/forecasting for manufacturing cost centers, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Production, and Supply Chain. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CMA preferred), 3–6 years cost accounting experience, and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); GAAP knowledge in manufacturing context. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- 3–6 years of cost accounting experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Solid understanding of GAAP as it applies to manufacturing cost accounting
