Job Summary
Deliver comprehensive cosmetology education by teaching theoretical and practical aspects of hair styling, cutting, coloring, makeup application, skincare, and nail care. Design engaging lesson plans aligned with industry standards and demonstrate hands-on techniques in classroom and salon settings. Assess student performance through practical exams and written assignments while maintaining accurate records of attendance, grades, and progress. Provide individualized support to students and stay current with industry trends and regulations to ensure curriculum relevance. Foster an inclusive learning environment and collaborate with staff to enhance the educational experience. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the cosmetology industry
- Valid cosmetology license in the state in which the college operates
- Excellent technical skills in hair, makeup, skincare, and nail care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and industry professionals
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, techniques, and best practices
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with a diverse student population
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Flexibility to adapt to changing curriculum needs and industry requirements
- Computer skills are necessary
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required
