Job Summary

Conduct daily clinical operations by supervising Medical Assistant staff, organizing patient flow, and escorting patients to exam rooms while confirming vital information. Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment; calibrate, clean, and sterilize supplies according to schedule. Manage inventory of medications and supplies, discard out-of-date items, and maintain infection control standards. Anesthesia and inject for procedures, document medical instructions, and triage patient problems. Respond to patient questions on phone and address all messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail timely. Ensure HIPAA compliance and OSHA standards are met throughout the practice. Requires Certified Medical Assistant with three years of experience, supervisory background preferred, and ability to travel to satellite offices. Required Qualifications

  • Able to triage patient problems
  • Be familiar with and compliant OSHA/HIPAA, infection control & Blood Borne Pathogen Standards
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes
  • Knowledge of office financial policies
  • Basic computer skills and experience in EMR utilization
  • Able to operate standard office equipment (i.e. computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to work in an effective, cooperative, and courteous manner with staff, patients, and visitors
  • Must be able to travel to satellite offices as needed
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction
  • Ability to spell, sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • CPR certified
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Medical Assistant

Desired Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred
