COS Material Handler I

Job Summary
Receive, fill, and ship products accurately by unloading trucks, inspecting freight for damage, verifying quantities against packing lists, and completing necessary paperwork. Operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products to correct storage locations while stocking bins and rotating stock. Pick orders by scanning items, entering data into a scan gun, packing cartons, and loading pallets into trucks. Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, resolve labeling discrepancies, and ensure hazardous materials are documented correctly. Follow all safety rules, wear protective equipment, and report maintenance concerns promptly. Maintain required certifications for forklift and hazardous materials handling.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 0 – 1 year of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift certification
- Willingness to obtain forklift certification on the job
- Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to work safely in all job tasks
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver large/heavy products or pieces of equipment while working within established safety guidelines
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to attend to details
- Ability to work with others in a team-based environment
- Ability to complete routine paperwork
- Ability to utilize necessary technology to complete tasks, such as RF equipment and ERP software
- English proficiency (written and spoken)
