Job Summary
Operate, tend, and maintain machines to produce lead acid batteries by reading specifications for adjustments and following computerized operational sequences. Automatically or manually load materials, observe operations to detect defects, and measure workpiece dimensions for accuracy. Perform minor maintenance like cleaning and oiling, assist with setup, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished pieces using a pallet jack, hoist, or forklift. Relieve other operators at shift changes and ensure proper hygiene, housekeeping, safety practices, and quality standards. Work consistent 40-hour shifts with overtime opportunities on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Good math skill including familiarity with metric system
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot machinery
- Ability to take and read measurements
- Must be able to read and interpret 1st piece inspection/set-up sheets
- Ability to maintain regular attendance
- Ability to work mandatory overtime
