Job Summary
Manage site reclamation permits, including regulatory reporting and updating Reclamation Cost Estimate models. Implement closure and reclamation projects in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, with a primary focus on land management obligations. Analyze environmental monitoring data for water quality, geochemistry, and vegetation to track reclamation liabilities and ensure financial reporting compliance. Build relationships with Federal and State authorities to communicate monitoring results and collaborate on closure plan development. Adhere to state and federal health and safety regulations while operating independently within multi-disciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, mine engineering, geology, hydrology, ecology (or similar)
- Ability to prepare technical communications and convey results to audiences with varying levels of expertise
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to operate independently and in small multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent computer skills (e.g. MS Office and data management programs)
- Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in an environmental compliance or reclamation/closure role
- Strong GIS skills
- Proficient in analyzing and interpreting analytical and monitoring data, with an emphasis on water quality and geochemistry
- Experience managing regulatory compliance programs in the state of Nevada
