Corrugator Operator - Weekend Maintainer

Job Summary
Operate wet or dry end of corrugator during regular shift, manage machine start including starch prep and paper web string-up for Sunday night production start-up, and complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks assigned alongside the Weekend Maintenance crew. Perform housekeeping and end-of-week clean-up, check basis weight and width of roll stock, monitor quality of check board, and report temperature and viscosity of starch. Troubleshoot operating issues, check machinery for mechanical soundness, and train other team members to pass on knowledge and expertise. General schedule is 7 PM to 7 AM Friday through Sunday, with eligibility for overtime covering operators during the regular work week as approved.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- up to two (2) years related experience or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good interpersonal & communication skills
- Highly organized, detail orientated and self-motivated individual (proactive attitude)
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, learn quickly and follow established processes
- Good mathematical skills - understand basic algebra, able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, volume etc. (add and subtract numbers, multiply and divide by 10's and 100's …)
- Ability to follow all facility safety guidelines that include adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients

- This position is eligible for any overtime covering for operators during the regular work week as approved by supervision
