Correspondent Banking Lead

Job Summary
Lead the end-to-end strategy, implementation, and operation of the Banking Correspondents channel in Mexico. Build, scale, and operate a robust correspondent network while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. Responsible for end-to-end implementation (0 → 1 and scaling), managing integrations with correspondent network managers and direct correspondents, coordinating CNBV regulatory approvals (including PEN preparation), documenting operational processes and controls, ensuring AML/CFT compliance, onboarding new correspondents from negotiation to go-live, overseeing day-to-day operations (transaction monitoring, incidents, SLAs, continuity), coordinating cross-functional teams (Product, Tech, Operations, Legal, Compliance) and external stakeholders, identifying expansion opportunities, and defining/tracking KPIs (volume, coverage, costs, uptime, fraud). Must have deep knowledge of Mexican regulatory requirements, a hands-on builder mindset, and fluency in Spanish and English.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or payments, with a focus on banking correspondents
- Proven experience integrating and operating with correspondent network managers and networks
- Hands-on experience with CNBV processes, including PEN preparation
- Strong understanding of Mexican regulatory framework
- Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Strong operational knowledge: reconciliation, settlement, incident management, and risk controls
- Highly structured profile with strong execution and ownership mindset
- Native Spanish and advanced English proficiency
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, build-from-scratch environments
