Job Summary
Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly while ensuring meals are served timely and efficiently. Review and approve production and temperature logs to maintain Aramark standards, then direct inmates on proper cooking procedures and recipe usage. Coordinate work schedules and sanitation plans, manage daily population counts, and ensure all kitchen tools, keys, and equipment are secured. Participate in meal preparation, storage, and inventory control, adhering to HACCP policies and food safety certifications. This role requires a correctional facility security clearance and involves physical demands including lifting and extended standing. Duties may vary by location and new assignments may be made without formal notice.
Required Qualifications
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must be able to obtain a food safety certification
- Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and policies
- Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Previous experience interacting with inmates a plus
- Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to exercise good judgment and tact
