Corrections Lieutenant

Corrections Lieutenant on the Blair County Prison campus, overseeing mid-level management duties and responsibilities across department budgeting, employee relations, inmate control and custody, labor relations, operations, planning, policies/procedures, and records retention. Acts as officer in charge during the absence of the warden or deputy wardens. Essential duties include touring the facility, enforcing policies, staff scheduling, keeping staff informed, supervising subordinate staff and inmates, performing administrative tasks for the warden/deputy wardens/customers, participating in investigations and disciplinary procedures, involvement in hiring, coordinating performance evaluations, firearms certification, and staying current in the corrections field. Requires on-site work on the 2nd shift (3 pm–11 pm) with potential weekend/holiday/emergency coverage; includes strong emphasis on supervisory leadership, compliance with regulations, and coordination with internal stakeholders. Must meet education and experience requirements and hold or obtain Title 37 training within the specified timeframe.
