Job Summary
Supervise Correctional Officer III’s in a close- to medium-custody institution, assign posts and schedules, ensure policy compliance, and oversee custody, security, and welfare of offenders. Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission; pass criminal background check and drug screen; successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations; possess a valid driver’s license; be prepared for adverse weather reporting; and work full-time on rotating shifts with state benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED diploma
- Three years of experience as a Correctional Officer OR Two years as Correctional Officer III OR Equivalent education/experience
