Correctional Sergeant III-Foothills Correctional Institution

Supervise subordinate officers in a minimum/medium/close custody state correctional facility, conducting shift line-ups, assigning posts, and inspecting personnel. Responsible for time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and handling equipment to ensure custody and welfare of offenders. Requires eligibility for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission; must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and complete medical and psychological evaluations. Adverse weather reporting is mandatory. Education: High School diploma or GED; experience as a Correctional Officer (three years) or Correctional Officer III (two years) or an equivalent combination.
