Job Summary
Monitor the movement and behavior of felony offenders in a residential, minimum security facility while supervising residents according to rules and regulations. Maintain the facility's safety, sanitation, security, and order by conducting searches, security checks, pat-downs, urinalysis, and breath analyzer administration. Handle crisis situations, assist with intake and orientation procedures, transport residents, and document necessary paperwork as part of a staff team. Work 12-hour shifts (84 hours biweekly) with day, evening, and weekend availability, including mandatory overtime. This role supports the facility's mission to reduce recidivism through cognitive behavioral programming and foster meaningful change for justice-involved individuals re-entering the community.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good oral/written communication skills
- Valid Ohio driver's license
- Good driving record
- Must be able to transfer up to fifty (50) pounds
- Visual ability sufficient to operate equipment
- Day, evening and weekend availability
- Subject to mandated overtime
- Voluntary overtime opportunities
- Must be able to function on a team
- Must undergo a full field background investigation
- Must undergo a drug screening
