Job Summary
Conduct psychosocial assessments and mental health evaluations for incarcerated individuals, providing individual and group therapy to address mental health, substance use, and behavioral issues. Develop and implement treatment plans, assess suicide risk, and intervene during crises while coordinating care with psychiatrists, medical staff, and correctional officers. Make referrals for specialized services, support discharge planning and reentry coordination, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with legal and facility standards. Provide crisis intervention, educate staff on mental health awareness, and ensure adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality policies. Work Monday through Friday in Hudson, CO, with negotiable compensation dependent on contract type.
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in CO where the facility is located
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Clinical experience in mental health (corrections, inpatient, or community behavioral health)
- Experience with high-risk populations, including crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and correctional staff
- Familiarity with documentation standards, electronic health records (EHR), and regulatory compliance
- Understanding of ethical guidelines, confidentiality (HIPAA), and legal considerations in a correctional setting
