Correctional Officer

Correctional Officer for the Mansfield Police Department. Under direct supervision, responsible for enforcing rules and regulations, preventing escapes, maintaining order among inmates, and escorting inmates to and from their cells. Duties include inspecting facilities, distributing supplies, operating jail doors, writing intelligible reports, and communicating effectively in high-stress situations. Must work any shift including days, evenings, and nights, and be able to work weekends/holidays; requires ability to pass post-offer medical/psychological screening and background checks. Education: high school diploma or equivalent required; age 20+. Desired: college degree in a related field and previous corrections experience. Knowledge includes federal, state, and county laws; abilities include supervising inmates, maintaining professional relationships, operating radios and cameras, and handling physical tasks associated with jail operations. The position is full-time with salary range listed as $41,944.00 - $49,927.00.
