Job Summary
Correctional Officer Lieutenant at Columbia Correctional Institution oversees and supervises Correctional Officers and Sergeants across shifts, serves as initial commander during emergencies, plans and coordinates post assignments and training, conducts security inspections, manages inmate housing, transports with restraints, conducts body cavity searches as authorized, enforces rules and sanitation standards, conducts crisis intervention and emergency response, and performs other security and administrative duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have completed the basic recruit training course for correctional officers and have one year of experience as a certified officer with the State of Florida
- Must not have received a suspension within the past 12 months
- Must not have received an involuntary demotion within the past 24 months
- Must not have received less than a 3.00 rating on a performance evaluation within the past 3 fiscal years
