Job Summary
Correctional Officer/Cook at Maine State Prison, Warren, ME. Responsible for preparing and serving approximately 2200 meals per day, monitoring security of assigned areas, and instructing/training residents in kitchen sanitation and basic food preparation. Includes handling OC Spray exposure, participating in treatment strategies, and ensuring adherence to institutional rules, safety, and pro-social behavior. Paid 6-week Basic Corrections Training Program (BCTP) with State Certification; benefits include health/dental/retirement provisions and paid leave. Lateral credit considered for experiencedCorrectional Officers; base pay ranges from $26.06 to $31.28 per hour depending on experience, with annual range approximately $54,204.80–$65,062.40 for a 40-hour week. No experience necessary to start; schedule features 7 days on/7 days off over pay periods with 12-hour shifts and potential overtime; 24/7/365 facility.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (HiSET, GED, etc.)
- Two (2) years’ experience in food preparation, serving and/or cleanup is required.
