Job Summary
Oversee and supervise subordinate staff at Pasquotank Correctional Institution, perform shift line-ups and post assignments, conduct investigations and searches, maintain time reports and duty rosters, inspect security and discipline, manage training needs and delivery to staff, and ensure equipment and funds are accounted for; requires CPR/first aid and firefighting readiness, and adherence to PREA and state guidelines with mandatory adverse weather reporting; position emphasizes supervisory responsibilities, administrative duties, and operational readiness within a prison facility in North Carolina.
Required Qualifications
- High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience as a Correctional Sergeant, or two years of experience as a Correctional Sergeant III; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MUST be eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
