Job Summary
Provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals by assisting with activities of daily living, collecting vital signs, and administering medications while maintaining accurate MAR documentation. Conduct rounds to monitor patient conditions, report changes, and document progress. Support sick call, assist providers with procedures, and assist with patient transfers and required reporting. Follow infection control and safety protocols, including maintaining medication security and narcotics accountability. Proficient in phlebotomy and administering PPD tests. Full-time position with 8-hour shifts (3:30pm - 12:00am) at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Maryland
- Strong understanding of nursing care principles
- Ability to recognize signs of mental illness, emotional disturbances, or substance dependency
- Proficient in phlebotomy and administering PPD tests
